Oklahoma Youth Ballet is proud to announce auditions for its upcoming production of Giselle, one of the most iconic and enduring works in the classical ballet repertoire. This production is designed to be both a meaningful performance opportunity and an educational experience for dancers seeking to deepen their knowledge of classical ballet technique, musicality, and storytelling.

Giselle is a romantic classical ballet centered on a kind-hearted village girl whose love of dance and pure spirit shine brightly. Through themes of love, heartbreak, forgiveness, and redemption, the ballet celebrates compassion, resilience, and the enduring power of grace. This production will be thoughtfully staged to remain appropriate for youth performers and audiences while honoring the beauty, tradition, and integrity of classical ballet.

Auditions are open to dancers ages 7 and up, and we are excited to welcome dancers at all stages of their training. Younger dancers will be cast exclusively in Act I, which focuses on village life and provides an age-appropriate introduction to classical ballet performance.
​
Dancers ages 13 and up are strongly encouraged to audition for two roles, giving them the opportunity to perform in both Act I and Act II. This allows older dancers to experience the contrast between the lively storytelling of Act I and the refined, classical style of Act II.
​
We are also pleased to welcome college-age dancers and adults to audition this season. Whether you are a dance major, an independent student, or a freelance dancer, we encourage you to join us and take part in this collaborative and artistically focused production.

Audition Information:
• Open to dancers ages 7 and up
• Ages 7–12 will perform in Act I only
• Ages 13+ encouraged to audition for two roles (Act I and Act II)
• College-age and adult dancers welcome
• Online auditions available (Please submit form with video to our email info@oklahomayouthballet.com)
• Dancers 18 and older should bring a headshot and resume

This production emphasizes collaboration and cooperation among local dance schools, allowing as many local students as possible to participate.
